Rachel La Vine, Artist & Teacher

I have many passions in life, but few can compare to teaching and creating.  Born and raised in and around Chicago, I have been teaching art for the past 12 years.  I have been especially committed to serving at-risk youth, who are often the most in need of learning creative and positive ways of self-expression and communication.

I have always loved art, since a very early age.  I was not always sure I wanted to be a teacher, but I always knew I would do something creative.  Once I had an opportunity to volunteer in college, and work with young people, my mind was made up.  Ever since, I have been working to share my passion and love for the arts with as many students as will allow me!

 

When I am not making art, or getting messy with my students in the classroom, you can find me out thrift store hunting, jogging, experimenting in my kitchen or trying to keep things alive in my garden, and chasing after my lovely and very animated children.  If you have any questions, are interested in a commission or just want to say hi, please send me a message!  Thanks!
